You are here to learn professional skills and judgement. I place a premium on honesty. For a time ( a very short time!!) I attended the military academy at West Point. They have an honor code that says in part: " A cadet shall not lie, cheat, steal..." I continue to adhere to that code and I expect you to also.

If you read the Expectations page you know that I have promised to work with you to help you learn the material and skills. Therefore I see absolutely no reason to cheat in the classes we share. Do your own work, if you do not understand something get in touch with me before the test or assessement! I'll be more than happy to work with you on this.

Examples of academic dishonesty:
-bringing any type of "cheat sheet" into a testing situation unless I authorize you to use one
-handing in someone else's work as your own
-handing in, as your own, someone else's work with their name on it (don't laugh, it happens!)

-plagerism
-collaboration with other students on a take-home exam unless authorized
-collaboration with other students on a solo paper or project

I do not go out of my way to try and spot cheating on tests or papers. However, I do not ignore it. If you cheat and I catch you, understand that I will do everything in my power to see you are removed from the program. I look at every student in terms of whether I would want them to work on a member of my family or on me! I do not want someone who is dishonest working on either of these folks.

Nuff said.
